Best Breeds For Training

In 32 years of training dogs, 28 of those years in clients homes. In my opinion these are the easiest breeds for training on housebreaking and behavioral problems. I will start with pets for seniors and then families with children. 

Seniors
1. Havanese - Very nice little dogs especially for seniors not real popular yet so their breeding has remained pure.

2. Poodles - Always have been one of the smartest and easiest.

3. Bichons - Just about like a poodle in every way fantastic.

4. Welsh Corgis - A little larger but excellent in every way.

5. Maltese - My personal favorite small breed very cute little dogs very willing to please.

There are many more excellent breeds I feel these are some of the best for seniors.  

Families
Most small breeds do not do well with children in this case I would go larger.

1. Border Collies - All around the best family dog.

2. Australian Shepherds - or cattle dogs short hair and long haired versions. 
    Very smart and alot of fun.

Probably the most popular usually brilliant.

3. Labradoodles - New guys on the block mix of lab and poodle hard to beat especially with kids.

4. Labrador Retrievers - also very good with children, there are many others but remember we are in South Florida, breeds like Great Pyrness, Bermese Mountain dogs are fantastic but the heat and humidity down here is has to be tough on them.
